Annual Herbert Trade Fair
We are now accepting registrations for the
Herbert Trade Fair being held Saturday,
October 18th in the Herbert School
Gymnasium from 10 am – 4 pm. Table
rental is $25 per 8’ table. If you’d like to
participate & haven’t received an
invitation/registration form, contact the

Tornado Safety Tips by Canadian Red Cross
Understand the difference:
Tornado Watch: conditions that are favourable for a tornado to
develop in the area. Keep alert and watch for changing weather
conditions, and listen to local news and weather updates.
Tornado Warning: a tornado has been sighted in the area, or
has been picked up on radar. Seek shelter immediately.
Before – Have an emergency preparedness plan & kit ready
that will be able to support you and your family to last at least
72 hours. Have a plan.
During: If you are…
Inside – go to the lowest level of the building (cellar, basement
etc.) If there is no basement, go to an inner hallway, or smaller
room with no windows (bathroom, closet). Stay away from
windows, outside walls, or doors. If in a mobile home – get out
and find shelter elsewhere!
At School/Work - go to basement or hallways at the lowest
level.
Outdoors – if possible, get inside a building. Lie in a ditch or a
low area or crouch near a strong building.
In a vehicle – leave the vehicle immediately, never try to drive!
Find shelter away from the vehicle (see above).
After – find out the latest information – continue to take
precautions & listen to local authorities for information &
instructions. Stay away from damaged areas and fallen power
lines.

Fuels, Mercury, Oxidizers, Poisons, Pharmaceuticals,
Propane Cylinders, Ammunition or Solvents, etc.
Be responsible! Illegal dumping can result in a hefty fine.

Since 2012, the watering restriction bylaw has been in effect for the months of
May through to the end of September. It is directed towards residents watering
lawns & gardens. It does not pertain to container plants & flowers. The watering
schedule is as follows:
 Even house numbers water on even numbered calendar days.
 Odd house numbers water on odd numbered calendar days.
 Watering times: 7 am – 10 am &/or 7 pm – 10 pm
 Timed sprinkler systems may water between the hours of
11 pm – 5 am on days described above.
PENALTIES:
a) First Offence – warning by registered mail or personal service of the
violation;
b) Second Offence – One hundred dollar ($100.00) fine.
c) Third Offence and Subsequent Offences – Three hundred dollar ($300.00)
fine and watering privileges restricted further upon Council discretion.
