Graduation Expectations
All graduating seniors will wear the blue cap and gown with matching orange stole.
o Jostens will host a cap & gown, invitations, and attire pick up day at Hampton
Preparatory in April. More details coming soon.
Honor cords and National Honor Society stoles will be worn by select scholars
Honor cords will be provided to scholars who meet the collegiate honors GPA
requirements:
o Honor Cords: Cum Laude (3.0-3.39 GPA), Magna Cum Laude (3.4-3.7 GPA),
Summa Cum Laude (3.8-4.0 GPA)
The purpose of the attire expectations for graduation is for scholars to embody a
professional and collegiate look. Most colleges and universities have strict graduation
attire expectations.
All scholars will have an “Attire Check” BEFORE they line up to enter the graduation
facility. If a scholar is NOT in appropriate attire, they will NOT participate in graduation
activities.
Scholars need to ensure that their shoes are shined and/or free from any dirt or scuff
marks
Young ladies need to show Ms. Barksdale their graduation shoes, dresses or skirts, and
hosiery by Friday, May 09th, 2014.
Scholars should arrive at the graduation venue NO LATER THAN 9am. Scholars should
bring their graduation attire with them so they can change into it closer to graduation
time.
If a scholar forgets their graduation cap and gown, they will NOT participate in the
graduation ceremony. They WILL still be eligible to receive their diploma and final
transcript(s).
