Graduation Expectations All graduating seniors will wear the blue cap and gown with matching orange stole. o Jostens will host a cap & gown, invitations, and attire pick up day at Hampton Preparatory in April. More details coming soon. Honor cords and National Honor Society stoles will be worn by select scholars Honor cords will be provided to scholars who meet the collegiate honors GPA requirements: o Honor Cords: Cum Laude (3.0-3.39 GPA), Magna Cum Laude (3.4-3.7 GPA), Summa Cum Laude (3.8-4.0 GPA) The purpose of the attire expectations for graduation is for scholars to embody a professional and collegiate look. Most colleges and universities have strict graduation attire expectations. All scholars will have an “Attire Check” BEFORE they line up to enter the graduation facility. If a scholar is NOT in appropriate attire, they will NOT participate in graduation activities. Scholars need to ensure that their shoes are shined and/or free from any dirt or scuff marks Young ladies need to show Ms. Barksdale their graduation shoes, dresses or skirts, and hosiery by Friday, May 09th, 2014. Scholars should arrive at the graduation venue NO LATER THAN 9am. Scholars should bring their graduation attire with them so they can change into it closer to graduation time. If a scholar forgets their graduation cap and gown, they will NOT participate in the graduation ceremony. They WILL still be eligible to receive their diploma and final transcript(s). Please see Ms. Barksdale for more details. Black shoes o Sandals, flats, or heels are acceptable. NO shoes with a 4 inch or higher heel. No stilettos Hosiery/stockings are optional. If worn, flesh-toned hosiery is REQUIRED Minimal jewelry-no hoop or dangling/hanging earrings. Stud earrings or pearls are acceptable. Small watches are acceptable or a small/thin bracelet. No bangle or stackable bracelets. One bracelet is acceptable If a young lady wears make-up, it should be soft and natural Hair color can NOT be blue, pink, green, yellow, or any color that a person is not naturally born with Young Men: Black slacks/dress paints White collared/button-up dress shirt Solid black tie Black dress shoes with BLACK dress/trouser socks o No boots or sneakers are allowed o No white or black bulky athletic socks NO earrings. A watch is acceptable. No necklaces, “chains,” or bracelets No designs should be cut into their hair Hair color can NOT be blue, pink, green, yellow, or any color that a person is not naturally born with
