DEEMED COMPLIANCE CHECKLIST
Local Government (Highways) Act 1982 and Urban Drainage Act 2013
The Burnie Interim Planning Scheme 2013 requires that a planning permit application for a development approval must demonstrate that
suitable arrangements are in place, or will be provided, for vehicular access to the site of development or use and that a suitable means of
disposal of stormwater arising from the use or development is provided, or will be provided.
The Burnie City Council has a responsibility to administer the Local Government (Highways) Act 1982 and Urban Drainage Act 2013.
Under the relevant provisions of these Acts, a deemed compliance for vehicular access to the local highway and access to the
Council stormwater system can be granted, subject to meeting the follow criteria:
