Clinicians, interns, as well as participants in previous NCRSS Fundamentals workshops
are invited to attend this course which will review, in-depth, the historical roots, theory
and practice of Sandplay therapy. Other topics to be covered include: Symbol
Formation, Basic Jungian framework, theory of archetypes, complexes, Ego, Self,
individuation, and the transcendent function.
Initial trays and the stages and themes of a sandplay process will be illustrated through
clinical case examples. There will be opportunity for hands-on engagement with symbols
and sand, and room for questions and discussion throughout the day
FACILITATORS
Tessamarie Capitolo, MFT, CST-T is an integrative analytic psychotherapist and a
Teaching Member of Sandplay Therapists of America in private practice in San Francisco
and San Rafael, California. Her practice includes children, adolescents and adults. She
has taught Sandplay nationally and internationally and published papers in the Journal
of
Sandplay Therapy. She is co-founder of the Child Therapy Institute of Marin, a non-profit
training institute.
Laura Soble, MFT, REAT, CST is a licensed marriage and family therapist, a registered
expressive arts therapist, and a certified clinical member of Sandplay Therapists of
America. She has an arts-based depth psychotherapy practice in Oakland, California
where she works with individuals and children. She has presented nationally about
Sandplay and published in the Journal of Sandplay Therapy.
