CULTURAL REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM
The department of hospitality and tourism would like to invite all PON third and fourth year students to apply for the one year
World Disney Cultural representative program in Orlando Florida. In the Cultural Representative Program, participants share
their culture and customs with guests who visit from all over the world. Participants in this program authentically represent
one of the countries or regions recreated in look and feel at the Walt Disney World Resort. Please note that the program is
open to all third and fourth year students irrespective of the area of study. All you need is to be conversant with your culture
and customs and be able to communicate effectively.
Pay Rate: $7.80 US dollars (minimum of 32 hours per week)
Available Roles:
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – (Resort Hotel)
 Savanna Guide
 Food & Beverage Host/Hostess
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park
 Attractions Host/Hostess
Q-1 Visa
Participants are responsible for:
 Cost of US Embassy/Consulate appointment $150
 Visa Reciprocity Fee to US Embassy/Consulate $85 for South African passport holder (will vary by country)
Medical Insurance
 Participants must obtain medical insurance for the first four months of the program
 After four months, participants can sign up for the medical plan offered by Disney
Housing Costs
 $85 to $108 per week (depends on the size of the unit)
 Participants will share a bedroom
 Non Refundable Program Assessment Fee $100 (one time)
Airfare - Two options
 Option 1: Participants will book their own airline ticket. Upon successful completion of the program, Disney will give
participants a transportation allowance of $1500 US dollars.
 Option 2: Disney will book the participant’s airline ticket but the participant will owe Disney the cost upon arrival.
Disney can do payroll deductions with the understanding that an additional $25 - $35 US dollars will be deducted from
the participant’s income each week.
Upon successful completion of the program, a participant can either request a ticket back to their home country or they will
receive the transportation allowance of $1500 US dollars. Responsible for own transportation from Orlando Airport to Vista
Way Apartment Complex Welcome Center (approximately $20 US dollars)
Criminal Background Check – Police Clearance Certificate must be obtained before arrival in United States
