Exit Airport. Turn left on Neil Street heading north. Turn right on
Springfield Avenue. Turn left on Wright Street. The Micro and
Nanotechnology Laboratory is located to your right on Wright
Street.

Reservations are required. When calling for a taxi,
please check the price of your ride before starting
your journey, especially since most cabs in
Champaign are not metered. If you have luggage,
ask if the cab charges for luggage. Cab fares from
Champaign's Willard Airport to the University of
Illinois campus is a flat rate and should not be
more than $16.
Transportation Options from Chicago to Champaign
Amtrak trains leave from Chicago's Union Station (downtown Chicago) three times daily to Champaign-Urbana. Reservations are
required. The trains take about three hours to get to Champaign. If you fly into O’Hare or Midway, you will need to find your way
from there to Union Station. While there is a subway train (CTA blue line - get off at Clinton), it can be inconvenient with luggage.
When you arrive in Champaign, you will get off at the Illinois Terminal. You can pick up a taxi from the Terminal.
Lincolnland Express (also known as LEX) provides shuttle services between O'Hare, Midway, Bloomington and Champaign.

Driving directions from airports serving the greater Champaign-Urbana area
Central Illinois Regional Airport (50 minutes to campus)
Exit Central Illinois Regional Airport Bloomington-Normal onto Route 9 (west). After about a mile, turn left
onto US-51/Veterans Parkway and stay on it for about four miles. Take the US-51/Main Street ramp and
keep left at the fork, then turn left onto US-51/Main Street. About a mile and half later, take the I-74 (east)
ramp towards Champaign. Take I-74 east to Champaign-Urbana. Exit South on Lincoln Avenue. Head south a
mile to the campus, which is on your right.
Chicago O’Hare International Airport (2.5 hours to campus)
Take Interstate 190 a couple miles to Interstate 294, the Tri-state Tollway (exit 1D). Head south (toward
Indiana) for 35 miles to Interstate 80, paying your tolls along the way.
Take I-80 West (toward Iowa) three miles then exit from the left lane onto Interstate 57 heading south. Drive
south for a couple hours or less to I-74 in Champaign. Take I-74 east three miles and exit at Lincoln Avenue.
Turn right and head south a mile to the campus, which is on your right.
Chicago Midway (2 hours to campus)
Head north on West 56th Street. Turn left on South Kilpatrick Avenue. Turn left onto West 55th Street.
Turn left onto Illinois 50 S/S Cicero Avenue. Drive 14 miles. Turn left onto 167th Street. Take Interstate 57
heading South. Take I-74 east three miles and exit at Lincoln Avenue. Turn right and head south a mile to the
campus, which is on your right.
Indianapolis International Airport (2 hours to campus)
Take I-70 east about 1.5 miles to I-465. Head north on I-465 about five miles to I-74. Take I-74 west (exit 16B,
"Peoria") 107 miles to Urbana.
Lambert- St. Louis International Airport (3 hours to campus)
Head northwest on Main Terminal toward Lambert International Boulevard. Turn left onto Lambert
International Boulevard. Take I-70E/St. Louis for 2 miles. Take Exit 238B on the left to I-170N for 3 miles.
Take Exit 10B to I-270 E toward Chicago. Drive 24 miles. Take I-70E for 83 miles. Take I-57N for 56 miles.
Take Exit 220 to US-45N. Drive 14 miles. Turn right onto Springfield Avenue for one mile. Turn left onto
Wright Street.
