Training Presentation Notes Background 1. Oxford Historical Treaties (OHT) is the premier resource for historical treaty research and home to the full text of The Consolidated Treaty Series, the only comprehensive collection of 16000 global treaties of all nations concluded from 1648 to 1919 (between the Peace of Westphalia and the establishment of the League of Nations). 2. The Consolidated Treaty Series was compiled by the late distinguished scholar Clive Parry of Downing College, Cambridge University, and published by OUP in 231 print volumes. Already established as the primary resource for research on historical treaties, the series will be available online for the first time through OHT. 3. OHT is available on the Oxford Public International Law platform. 4. The Consolidated Treaty Series is a static collection; however General Editor Randall Lesaffer will produce and commission contextual commentaries on specific treaties, types of treaty, and historical trends, to be added to the site on a regular basis.
