Retired US Air Force Colonel Horace Templeton first created Green Reading maps for Carswell Air
Force Base Golf Club back in 1979 before going onto to publish his 1984 tour de force “Vector
Putting - The Art and Science of Reading Greens and Computing Break”. The result of over 15 years
scientific investigation into this previously unchartered aspect of Golf, Vector Green Reading is now
widely regarded as the first and most complete attempt to unify a set of practical Ball Flight Laws
that determine predictive success in Putting. The work also introduces “definitive” terms such as:
The Zero Break Line, the Gravity Vector and Aim Point. Most importantly, his methods outline the
first practical and legally conforming application by which the golfer can quickly identify the “Putt
Vector” that governs the optimum ratios of “Pace and Path” for a given breaking Putt.
These one day workshops will aim to introduce the basic theory together with practical
demonstrations that bring to life Templeton’s ground breaking work. The course is aimed at the PGA
Professional who wants to explore how this “missing link” can be used to enhance their playing
performance. And, for those looking to further their coaching careers, Vector Green Reading is also
an affordable Certification programme that provides the opportunity for every PGA Professional to
become qualified to enhance their coaching income. For these Delegates, this course will provide
appropriate orientation and at the same time afford the additional incentive for those who elect to
advance to the Vector Certification program as they will be entitled to a full refund for this event.
