Academic Search Complete America: History & Life and Historical Abstracts Health Source: Nursing / Academic Edition Humanities International Complete JSTOR Military & Government Collection Project Muse ProQuest Dissertations and Theses: Full Text Women’s Studies International World Catalog (a bibliographic database, not a periodical database—good for identifying material on your subject). Don’t forget to check the E-Journals by Title list if a periodical title is not full-text in a database—it may be full-text in some other database Kelly Library subscribes to. Also, note that Kelly Library has the New York Times on microfilm for the WWI and WWII years, and paper issues in Bound Periodicals of Life, Newsweek, Time, and U.S. News & World Report covering WWII. Internet --Try Google Scholar (http://scholar.google.com/) for scholarly literature, preprints, grey literature. --Take a look at The History Highway: A 21st Century Guide to Internet Resources (REF/D/16.117/.H55/2006). --Look at Internet Resources under History on the Subject Resources link. Interlibrary Loan --Must register for the online ILL ordering system, ILLiad. --If you’ve registered and forgotten your password, please don’t register a 2nd time. --Allow 5-7 working days for materials to arrive (especially books). --Limit requests for returnable materials to 10 requests at one time. --Check the catalog and the E-Journals by Title list to make sure the material isn’t already available. Documentation --Must give credit to the author when using direct quotes or paraphrasing unique ideas to avoid plagiarism. --Kelly Library has copies of both Turabian’s Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses and Dissertations and The Chicago Manual of Style on permanent reserve. Ask for these at the Circulation Desk. --Take a look at Documentation under the Research Tips link on the library web page. ----The Chicago Style Quick Guide, the OWL (Online Writing Lab) at Purdue, and the Diana Hacker website are good.
