Highlights in this reporting period This report gives an overview of the activities undertaken during the period January – February 2014. In this period the EMODNet Chemistry 2 activities were mainly related to: Signing of the agreement with partners (Consortium Agreement, available in the Extranet), and subcontractors (Subcontract). 7 over 14 Subcontracts are finalized and made available in the Extranet. 2nd EMODnet Chemistry Steering Committee, to clarify the status of the activities, to highlight issues and agree on possible solutions, to agree on the planning of the next months. The agenda, the action list agreed during the meeting as well as all the presentations are available on the Portal, under the section Meetings. 21st Meeting of the Marine Observation and Data Expert Group (MODEG), where the progress of the first months was presented to get feedback from MODEG group. The meeting has been an interesting point of harmonization and discussion. The data collection has been stimulated from several sides: with e-mails from the coordinator, from the technical coordinator, from the regional leaders and the CDI service. This to ensure a good data availability for the generation of the first set of products. Focus on vocabularies developments (vocabularies filtering + P35). A dedicated mailing list with experts of the field has been setup for the discussion of the necessary upgrades of some Common Vocabularies. Contacts for the release of MSFD Sea Areas Boundaries. The Coordination of the Chemistry Lot together with the interested Work Package Leaders are contacting the relevant persons to find as soon as possible official MSFD Sea Regions boundaries. These are necessary for several activities like the data collection, the data search, the reporting and the product generation. 3 EMODnet Thematic Lot n° 4 - Chemistry 4th Bi-monthly report 2.
