NOTICE OF INVITING TENDER
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited invites sealed tenders from eligible tenderers for
Building Conditon study and structural analysis of existing properties/structures proposed for
partial / full demolitions which are identified in Reach-4B from Puttenahalli to Anjanapura Depot.

BMRCL requires about three months for issuing LOA to the demolition contractor
after the receipt of final BCS report from the consultant.
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
1. The consultant shall identify the properties proposed for partial/complete demolition using
the land plans. Prepare plan and elevation of each building and the portion of the building
proposed for demolition. The consultant will indicate structural featues of adjacent
properties which may be affected due to demolition.
2. Necessary non-destructive tests shall be done to assess the structural condition of
properties. The existing building structure and its conditions are to be documented by
taking number of color photos to depict condition of the structure.
3. Analyse existing distress points observed in the building if any. Based on building condition
and distress points, assess the feasibiliy of partial demolition and / or suggest extra
demolition if necessary for structural safety and functional use of remaining portion of
building. The recommendations of consultant shall be building specific, economical and safe
for implementation.
4. Assessment of structural safety and functional use of remaining part of building where
partial demolition of the strucure is proposed.
5. The consultant shall consider under ground and above ground utilities such as electric lines,
water lines, sewer lines, telephone lines etc., existing in the vicinity of demolition. The
sequence and methodology proposed for demolition shall be safe (both for the property,
human life and utility services ), economical and free from negative Environmental Impacts.
6. The consultant will also suggest the type and capacity of equipments required for safe
demolition process. The consultant will submit structure wise report on sequence and
methodology of demolition including remedial measures required to be undertaken prior to
demolition, during demolition and post demolition.
7. The consultant shall devise formats to check and monitor the demolition work.
8. The consultant will supervise the demolition work for safe and speedy completion. Will
advise the contractors as required during the demolition of structure. The consultant will
certify the demolition works carried out.
9. The consultant shall prepare design and drawings for restoration/rehabilitation works
including cost estimaion of the same.
10. The consultant shall prepare design and drawings for temporary structures including safety
barricading to be used during the demolition of building by the demolition contractor.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
A consultancy firm/company/individual referred as applicant hereinafter, meeting the
following minimum elibgibility criteria, shall only be qualified for participating in the
tender.
1. Applicant must have done Building condition study of atleast 10 properties which have
undergone partial/ full demolition or restoration in the last five years period (i.e.,
2009-10 to 2013-14). Owner’s/client’s certificate regarding completion of work to be
enclosed.
2. Applicant must have completed Structural design of atleast 10 buildings (of more than
three floors) during the last 5 years period (i.e., 2009-10 to 2013-14). Owener’s/client’s
certificate to be enclosed.
3. Applicant must have received on an averge consultancy fee of Rs. 15 lakhs per annum in
structural design of buildings or building condition study or structural safety /
soundness study of existing structures in the preceding five
financial years (i.e.,
2009-10 to 2013-14) duly supported by certificates by a Charated Accountant.
4. The applicant should furnish a solvency certificate for Rs. 15 lakhs isued by a scheuled
bank dated not prior to issue of this tender notice.
5. The applicant should be located in Bangalore or should have a branch in Bangalore
(address proof of office to be furnished).
6. Technical Personnel.
a. Team leader.
i.
Shall be minimum graduate in Civil Engineering.
ii.
Shall have 5 years of experience in design analysis of multi storied
building.
iii.
Shall have 3 years of experience in handling the demolition of building
works.
b. Site Engineers (Two numbers).
i.
Shall be minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering.
ii.
Shall have experience in demolition/restoration of building works.
CVs of the above personnel proposeed to be engaged shall be furnished countersigned
by the applicant.
7. Applicants may propose more site engineers based on their assessment.
8. The tenders of the Applicants will be rejected if they do not meet the eligibility criteria
described in paras 1 to 6 above.
9. The Tender documents can be purchased from BMRCL office during office hours
between 10.9.2014 to 23.9.2014 by paying a non-refundable tender document cost of
Rs. 5000/- in the fom of demand draft or pay orders drawn in favour of the Managing
Director, BMRCL, Bangalore payable to Bangalore.
10. The interested eligible firms can submit their proposals
in prescribed tender
documents on 6.10.2014 before 15.00 hrs to the Office of Chief Engineer/R4, BMRCL,
3rd floor, BMTC Complex, Shantinagar, Bangalore- 560027 along with the bid security
indicated in the Tender Document.
11. Tender will be opened on 6.10.2014 at 15.30 hrs.
