U6 to U8 athletes MUST high jump using scissors technique (SALAA Rule). U6 must use the flexi-bar in high jump, whilst U7 and U8 have this option (SALAA Rule).
Starting blocks are NOT used at State Championships (SALAA Rule).
Vortex throwing event for U6 to U11 is a modified activity included to assist in developing an athlete’s throwing ability. Vortex is not a State or 5-Star Award event.
Track events always take precedence over field events.
Pits 1 and 2 for Long jump are at the Mildura end, Pits 3 and 4 for triple jump are at the Merbein end, Pits 5 and 6 are located near the car park, and have a grass track from both ends.
