BUYER BEWARE: PHASE 2 PROJECT – “MOSAIC DESIGN”
In this activity you will design a mosaic to show what you have learned in Phase 2 of the “Buyer Beware” unit.
Use the following guidelines to plan and create your design:




Your design should have 3 to 6 different colors in it.
Your design should have between 30 and 60 total squares of the same size in it.
Two of the colors in your design should be in a part-to-part ratio of 2:3.
Some of the colors in your design should be in a part-to-whole ratio of 1:3.
A couple of helpful hints…
1] Once you have come up with a design, use the table below to help you organize your information.
2] Use proportions to provide evidence that your work is correct.

Present a neat and
creative design of
between 30 & 60
squares with a total of
3 to 6 colors. Design

planning on your part.
Demonstrate an
understanding of partto-part ratios by
accurately meeting
the design
requirement ratio of
2:3 and having no
errors in part-to-part
ratios shown above.
Demonstrate an
understanding of partto-whole ratios by
accurately meeting
the design
requirement ratio of
1:3 and having no
