Here is what your gift can accomplish ~ $30 can provide 3 days of work for a team of archeological graduate students striving to understand the life and times of the historic Florida maritime community or the specialized cleaning of 300 square feet of historic brickwork. $100 can provide the restoration of an historic iron step or patching crumbling mortar on a square foot of antique brickwork. Recently a school district had to cut back on a planned field trip to a local lighthouse. Through an individual's gift of $100, two buses were scheduled and 120 students were able to participate in this important historical adventure. $250 can pay for two classrooms from transportation and program costs for a local school to have a field trip to a lighthouse and learn about Florida maritime history and the importance of preservation. FLA recognizes donors who make gifts of $250 or more as LUMEN SOCIETY members $500 can rebuild five historic iron steps in a lighthouse tower. FLA recognizes donors who make gifts of $500 or more as BEACON SOCIETY members. $1,000 can purchase enough specialized marine paint to allow a volunteer to completely cover an historic building or provide a day of ground penetrating radar to aid archeologists in their discovery of artifacts located on lighthouse grounds. FLA recognizes donors who make gifts of $1,000 or more as PRISM SOCIETY members $5,000 can help a volunteer preservationist strip and repaint a historic building. FLA recognizes donors who make gifts of $5,000 or more as FRESNEL SOCIETY members $10,000 will enable a trained volunteer to completely restore an antique lens system or provide a roof for an historic out building such as an oil house, or wash room. FLA recognizes donors who make gifts of $10,000 or more as TOWER SOCIETY members $25,000 can rescue and completely restore an out building on an historic lighthouse grounds FLA recognizes donors who make cumulative gifts of $25,000 or more, in perpetuity as PHAROS SOCIETY COMMEMORATIVE ROLL OF HONOR members $100,000 can completely restore all the historic ironwork in a brick lighthouse tower or fund a years’ worth of archaeological or historic research by a graduate student team. $1,000,000 will restore a lighthouse ~ that is what it costs to completely restore one of the towers.
