ITN-EID – European Industrial Networks (25M €) - have the objective of training highly-skilled researchers and stimulating entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation in Europe by involving the non-academic sector in doctoral training; Each EID is composed of at least 2 beneficiaries established in 2 different Member States or Associated Countries; At least 1 beneficiary must be entitled to award doctoral degrees and at least 1 beneficiary must come from the non-academic sector, 1 NRI-Núcleo de Relações Internacionais HORIZON 2020 MSCAprimarily enterprise; Each participating researcher must be enrolled in a doctoral programme and spend at least 50% of their time in the non-academic sector; The joint supervision of fellows by supervisors from each sector is mandatory. Legal entities established in countries not listed above will be eligible for funding when such funding is explicitly foreseen in the relevant call text. In addition, legal entities established in countries not listed above and international organisations will be eligible for funding: − When funding for such participants is provided for under a bilateral scientific and technological agreement or any other arrangement between the Union and an international organisation or a third country; − When the Commission deems participation of the entity essential for carrying out the action funded through Horizon 2020. European Union contribution and applicable rates The host organisation shall appoint each eligible researcher under an employment contract Contract: with full social security coverage (including sickness, parental, unemployment and invalidity benefits, pension rights, benefits in respect of accidents at work and occupational diseases) except where national regulation prohibits this possibility. 2 NRI-Núcleo de Relações Internacionais HORIZON 2020 MSCAYearly reference rates for living allowances under employment contracts (These amounts include all compulsory deductions under national applicable legislation) Researchers Categories (recruited under an EUR/year employment contract) Early-stage researchers (4 anos) 37.320€ (3.110€ month) – at least 1 Early Stage researcher Experienced researchers 55.800€ (4.650€ month) When an employment contract cannot be provided, the host organisation shall recruit the researcher under a status equivalent to a fixed-amount fellowship. The rates applicable in these cases, which shall be duly justified, will be 50% of the rates for researchers under an employment contract. The host organisation shall ensure that researchers enjoy minimum social security coverage. In addition to the living allowance, a mobility allowance and a family allowance will be paid for some categories of researchers as specified in Table below. In this context family is defined as persons linked to the researcher by (i) marriage, or (ii) a relationship with equivalent status to a marriage recognised by the legislation of the country where this relationship was formalised; or (iii) dependent children who are actually being maintained by the researcher.
