National Auto Body Council and Recycled Rides™
(Your shop name) Invites you to make a difference
The National Auto Body Council (NABC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the mission of
developing, implementing and promoting community-based initiatives that exemplify the professionalism
and integrity of the collision industry. As a repairer, insurer, car rental agency, parts supplier, vendor or
industry consultant, we all benefit when the general public views our industry in a positive light. But
equally important, we all personally benefit when we give back in ways that make a difference in our local
communities.
Most of us take transportation for granted. But for many people, routine activities such as going to the
work, taking kids to school, grocery shopping and medical visits are a challenge. A catastrophic illness or
unforeseen circumstance can suddenly change lives and without transportation, make it difficult to get
back on the road to stability.
This is where NABC’S trademarked Recycled Rides™ Program comes in. It is a unique endeavor that has
been fulfilling this need since 2007 with close to 1000 vehicles having been gifted. Insurers, car rental
companies, collision repairers, paint suppliers, parts vendors and others collaborate to repair and then
donate vehicles to deserving individuals chosen by recognized nonprofit 501(c)(3) charities that provide
services and work directly with at-risk families and individuals in local communities throughout the
country. The process is one where a damaged but repairable vehicle is donated (usually by an insurance
company or car rental agency), a NABC member auto body collision shop volunteers to repair it, seeking
donations from their local vendors, and then the vehicle is presented to a recipient carefully chosen by the
charity or in some cases, to the charity itself. This gift of a vehicle may elevate a family to a new level of
economic independence.
In addition to helping make a profound difference in someone’s life, your company’s participation in
Recycled Rides™ also provides may other intangible benefits. Recycled Rides™ helps build local
community goodwill and brand your company in local markets. And within your own company, it creates
rewarding experiences, excitement and pride for your team. Your company will be invited to and
recognized at the Ride Away event when the recipient is presented with the vehicle. Local media is
usually present as are dignitaries and other members of the community.
Some of the companies that support the NABC and Recycled Rides™ are 3M, LKQ Corporation, and all
the paint manufacturers. Vehicle donations have come from insurance, car rental and salvage companies
such as Allstate, Enterprise, GEICO, Hertz, IAAI, Progressive, State Farm and others. Receipts for tax
deductions are available as well. For more information on how to be a part of a life-changing event,
please contact (your email address and /or phone #).
Thank you for considering being a part of Recycled Rides™. Together we can change lives.
