Purpose: To describe the Proponent’s proposed activity within the Gitanyow Lax’yip, including:

 Spatial data (PDF/JPEG maps and shape files, KMZ files if available)
 Proposed duration of activity (season windows, etc)
 Impacts, if any, to Gitanyow Land Use Plan Zones and values (see Table below)
 If impacts to Land Use Plan Zones, identified mitigation or avoidance measures to ensure
compliance with the Gitanyow Lax’yip Land Use Plan.
 Response to Gitanyow’s comments and recommendations
 Anticipated timelines for submission to the Provincial agencies for authorizations.
GITANYOW INFORMATION SHARING
Purpose: To describe the Gitanyow’s initial recommendations on mitigating potential impacts to
known values detailed in the Gitanyow Lax’yip Land Use Plan, and other known Gitanyow’ values on
the affected portion of the Lax’yip, including:
 Response to Proponent’s initial mitigation or avoidance measures, if Gitanyow Land Use
Zones impacted
 Information on potential impacts to Gitanyow aboriginal rights and title
 Information on affected Gitanyow cultural sites and resources
 Other known values
 Initial proposed mitigation, compensation, and other measures
 Recommendations that will be presented to the Province of BC through the Engagement
Framework process.

RECOMMENDATIONS SUMMARY
Purpose: Document engagement discussion and recommendations regarding the Proposed Activity
that both Parties will present to their respective decision makers for consideration, and to the
Province of BC.
 In developing Recommendations, the representatives will consider and where necessary address
some or all of the following:
o Applicable laws, policies, or customs of the Parties;
o Consistency with the vision, guiding principles and management direction in the
Gitanyow Land Use Plan or other plans mutually agreed by the Parties;
o Compatibility with any other agreements between the Parties;
o Potential environmental, social and economic effects or benefits;
o Potential impacts of Proposed Activities on Gitanyow recognized aboriginal rights and
title, and any proposed measures to accommodate such rights; and
o Other relevant information as mutually agreed by the Parties.
