MATH IN MINUTES Grade 3 – 3.14 FLEXIBLE CREATIVITY, INC. Math in Minutes Math in Minutes is a unique opportunity for classroom teachers to provide students with a snapshot of the 2009 Virginia Standards of Learning mathematics curriculum. It can provide teachers with an opportunity to informally assess a student’s pre- and post-knowledge. This document is designed for students to provide open-response or performance-based response. Feedback cards (at the beginning of the document) can be provided to each student and placed at the top of their work space. Teachers monitor student progress and provide feedback. Additionally, when necessary, resources for responses (for example, coordinate plane) are provided within the document. Math in Minutes is designed to be used as either an opening activity to each day’s mathematics assignment or as transition between activities. Each question can be individually printed to allow students to work independently. Students will look forward to the challenge!
