Band Instrument Teachers Scott Wareham polyrhythmmusicdesign@gmail.com Guitar and Bass guitar I’ve been in the music industry for nearly twenty years. I’ve taught guitar for nine of those years, and have spent the rest in the music scene with the bands Marlowe and HOKUM. As for teaching, I’ve found an excellent home under the Redhill banner for the past four years, and hope to continue nurturing and guiding my students here holistically in all aspects of music. My teaching method is simple: follow the child. By using this technique I instill a love of learning, which encourages them to practice – the bane of all music teachers’ lives! I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you in advance for your interest in spreading the gift of music. Trevor Muller Bass guitar Trevorbasso2@gmail.com My main instruments are electric bass and acoustic and electric guitar. I love all styles of music but prefer the 60s,70s,80s & 90s music. Piano Teachers Classical Piano topbid@mweb.co.za Louise van der Walt: louisevanderwalt@gmail.com Piano and Electric Keyboard Redhill School Of Music Dr Nita Wolff Classical Piano I have a PhD in Music Education and I have been teaching at Redhill since 1982. My policy is to enter children for Trinity and ABRSM (Royal Schools) exams. I have always believed in the benefits of entering pupils for music exams, both for the pupils involved, and for myself as a teacher. Exam entry sets targets and allows the pupils to measure their progress, thereby motivating them. Working for an exam inculcates the value of hard work. The pupils realise that hard work will ultimately be recognized, and when they are rewarded with success in an exam/audition/competition, they learn that all the time and effort they spent practicing and polishing their performance was worth it. I am dedicated to my teaching and put my soul into it. I do, however, expect my pupils to practice diligently EVERY day. The result is that I obtain exceptionally good results with my pupils in the exams and eisteddfods. I cannot stress enough the importance of parents getting involved and showing a genuine interest in their child’s music lessons. Parents should try to sit in on lessons where possible, supervise daily practice sessions and attend the child’s performances. These experiences are fun, exciting and educational. I was born and studied piano with some of the top teachers in Russia. As a teacher I have developed a reputation for excellence and as a result of my consistently high standard of achievements by my students in exams and National Eisteddfods. I went on to perform and teach as a senior lecturer at various colleges, music schools and universities in Russia. I have taught at Redhill now for 4 years. Louise learnt the piano from the age of 7 and went on to study a BMus degree at the University of Stellenbosch, specialising in piano performance. She is passionate about teaching music and offers various styles of piano and keyboard group classes for beginners to advanced, as well as adults. Louise also offers group keyboard classes for little ones.
