Congratulations to the Cougar Swim Team on their performance at Wednesday's Central 3A Conference Meet. Both girls and boys teams placed second in the conference. All Conference was achieved by Ethan Wilson, Samuel Moore, Collin Underwood, and Jordan Cross in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay; Jordan Cross in the 200 and 100 freestyles, Collin Underwood in the 100 Fly, Ethan Wilson in the 100 Backstroke. Top three finishers and medal award winners also included: Carter Severance, Carson Key, Aly Powell, and Lauren Fabian in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay; Samuel Moore in the 200 IM and 500 Freestyle; Ethan Wilson in the 100 Fly; Ben Isley, Eric Reichenbach, Thomas Clunan and Collin Underwood in the 200 Free Relay; Carter Severance in the 100 Backstroke; and Carson Key in the 100 Breaststroke. Ethan Wilson was also named Swimmer of the Year, and Rockingham County High School Swim Team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award this Year. Coach Peck was also named Coach of the Year. FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS will be given on campus next Thursday, February 5th starting after school (3:30-5:30). Students need to have a signed consent form to be seen in the student health center. His name is Derrick Minor. Coach Minor is coming to us from Princeton High School in eastern N.C. Next Thursday, February 5th, at 7:00 p.m. we will host a "Meet the Coach Night" in the gymnasium at the high school. We would like to invite any prospective player and their parents to attend.
