Frequently Asked Questions
J10- November 2015
Q: Why are we upgrading to CU Careers?
A: Seamless integration
CU Careers is part of the larger PeopleSoft upgrade project, called Elevate. The Elevate project encompasses
enhancements to not only the recruitment platform, but also to the HR and Finance systems. Taleo, the CU Careers
platform, was selected because of its seamless integration abilities with the new HR PeopleSoft platform called HCM.
Q: How will job postings be impacted by the upgrade in December?
A: Postings closed prior to December 5 in Jobs at CU will result in no impact
Postings opened on December 3 in CU Careers will require utilizing the new system
Postings opened in Jobs at CU that must remain open beyond December 3 in CU Careers will be most impacted
Any requisitions that are posted in Jobs at CU that must remain open beyond December 4 to continue collecting
applications, must be re‐created in HCM (non-person profile) and re-posted in CU Careers after go‐live. Candidate
materials will be managed in both the old and new system.
Q: What should I consider in preparation for the upgrade in December?
A: The most critical item is to assess and determine the timing of your postings:
1. Can you post early and close your posting prior to December 4 in Jobs at CU?
2. Can you wait and post in CU Careers on December 3rd?
3. If option one and two are not possible, postings must be re‐posted in CU Careers after go‐live on December
3rd.
When posting positions in Jobs at CU that you know will cut-over, please include the following language in your
posting and edit your requisition in CU Careers so you can link the two postings:
Effective December 3, 2015, the University of Colorado will be transitioning to a new and improved career site.
Due to this change, it is important that your application be submitted by the closing date listed in the posting, or
by Friday, December 4, whichever date comes first.
Please note: Beginning December 5th, you will lose access to application materials stored in Jobs at CU and must
use the new CU Careers, www.cu.edu/careers, to search career opportunities and submit applications.
When creating a requisition in Jobs at CU or placing an ad for a posting which you intend to also post in
CU Careers, include the following disclaimer to let candidates know that CU will be transitioning to a
new career site and how to search for the specific requisition:
“On December 5th, you will be redirected to CU Careers, our new career site. In order to access this
posting, please use the keyword search for posting #____.”
1. When we officially transition to CU Careers and you are creating the new posting, you will need to edit the
appropriate requisition to display the Jobs at CU posting number as a searchable field. Identify your requisition
and click Edit
2. Edit the Working Title to add the posting number for example:

Q: How will applicants be impacted by the upgrade?
A: Most applicants should not be impacted by the upgrade. It is important to encourage applicants to complete
their applications prior to December 4 at 11:59 pm or wait and begin the process in CU Careers on or after
December 5.
The Jobs at CU site will no longer be available to applicants after 11:59 pm on December 4. Once the cut‐over
occurs, all applicants will be automatically re‐directed to the new CU Careers home page. If applicants already
completed and submitted their applications, nothing is required. However, if applicants did not complete and
submit their applications or are new applicants, they will need to create a new CU Careers login account, search
for the applicable posting and begin the application process.
