Aims of session: to review and consolidate Reporting Verbs; to complete Module 12 with the
film review writing activity

class feedback to board reported speech sentences they
have collected;

Class f/back: each group goes through their examples on
the board for the rest of the class

elicit examples from L’s plus constructions that follow
them if they can remember any; give out h/out P1 and go
through examples as a class; then split class into 3 groups
and give each group a separate page of sentences to work
through
Using the examples as a guide, L’s should identify the
correct form of the verb plus the relevant constructions
that follow; they should then insert the verb into the
correct category on the sorting sheet
Brainstorm recently seen films and share with partner
Read the review of ‘Bend it like Beckham’ and do the gap
fill; check in pairs
Make notes as per the heading in Task 3
Use this as a template to make notes about a film of L’s
choice that they have recently seen
Write up the review
Swap with a partner and read each other’s work –
feedback to other pairs
