Meeting called to order at 10:00 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: Sturdevant, Lasher, Cline, Bennett and Wagar present.

COMMUNICATIONS
A. Minutes of Kimball Township Cemetery Advisory Board - January 8, 2014
Motion by Cline to accept as presented, supported by Wagar. Motion Carried
B. Minutes of Kimball Township Board of Trustees – March 4, 2014
Received by M. Sturdevant.
II.
OLD BUSINESS
A. Pricing of Graves
Sturdevant stated that he was able to contact the Wales Township office for the prices
of graves at the Lambs Cemetery and the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The cost per grave
for a resident at either cemetery is $200. For a non-resident, the cost for either
cemetery would be $800. The opening/closing cost for residents or non-resident at
either cemetery would be $450 for weekdays and $675 for weekends and holidays.
Motion by Cline to keep the current prices of graves and fees, supported by Bennett.
These can be re-adjusted as seen necessary by the Cemetery Board. Motion Carried
III.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Changing of Rules
Sturdevant presented the Port Huron Times Herald article about the new standards set
at Lakeside Cemetery. Wagar suggested that the new information should be put into
the next township newsletter. The new motto for the cemetery will be “FLAGS AND
FLOWERS ONLY”
Motion by Wagar to submit to the Kimball Township Board of Trustees for their
approval to the change in Ordinance 132, under section VI; General Rules, Item 5.
The section should be changed to read as follows:
ONLY the Placement of Flags and/or Flowers are permitted, provided it does not
interfere with orderly maintenance of the cemeteries. Plants or flowers in pots or
receptacles easily removable may be placed near a monument or headstone at any
time. No glass containers are allowed. The DPW will remove the same when
becoming unsightly. Urns, hanging baskets and flower stands are permitted, but
those not filled with plants or flowers by the first day of July may be removed by the
DPW, as will any in which plants have died, supported by Cline. Motion Carried.
B. Water Sample
Hand suggested that the water from the hand pump well at Caswell Cemetery should
be tested. Then a sign should be placed on the well stating that the water is NOT
suitable for drinking.
Motion by Cline to adjourn at 11:20 a.m. supported by Wagar. Motion Carried
Meeting adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
