Instructions for ONLINE officiating training – Jr National and National Officials
Read all instructions before starting. The link to the online training website is included in these instructions!
NOTE: You need to follow the directions from the National Office (emailed by Kathy) to access your National
exam(s) and to also sign-up for a National clinic (either in-person or online). This training is separate and
does not meet the requirements to keep your rating. The additional items required here are meant to be
minimal. I’ve been told the system should recognize any duplicate courses, provided the email you use is
the same as what is on record in WebPoint.
Step 1 – Create a user id
Select the CREATE NEW STUDENT option when first accessing the website.
Step 2 – Accurately complete all required information. The next page has a screen shot of this.

Your user id must be your email address. Read the note if more than one person will be using
the same email address.

Ensure that NORTH COUNTRY is selected as the Region. Failure to do this will not bring up the
proper courses, thus you will NOT get credit for completion.

Do NOT fill out the USA membership # or contact id. You may add a Club name if you are also a
coach of a team, or affiliated with a club.

You can select the official ratings if you wish, though this is not required.
Step 3 – This system will bring up all of the possible training options for our Region. During this time the
system will also generate several emails, which may end up in your SPAM/Junk folder, indicating that you are
enrolled in all of listed curriculum. These messages are not necessary to save and can be deleted.
You will NOT need to complete all of the curriculum. You will be selecting ONE!!
Please select and complete your CURRENT level, even if you wish to upgrade this season. You will NOT have to
repeat any of the courses that are in both when you return later to move onto the next training level!
NO204 National Referee Training – This adds the scoring aspect to complete your good standing with NCR.
NO205 Dual National Officials Training – This will complete your good standing with NCR.
NO401National Scorer Training – This will complete your good standing with NCR for scoring. If you also
officiate, but are not a Jr National or National official, please see the instructions for Regional, Provisional and
New Officials. If there are any courses of overlap that you did not get credit for, please contact me by email.

201 USA Volleyball Referee Continuing Education Materials – this contains ALL of the modules currently
available online for credit regarding being a Referee. Feel free to watch additional modules here. Especially if
there is an area you wish to improve or know more about.
401 USA Volleyball Scoring Continuing Education Materials – this contains ALL of the modules currently
available online for credit regarding being a Scorer. Feel free to watch additional modulate here. Especially if
there is an area you wish to improve or know more about.
Step 4 – Select the proper group of training modules by clicking on green box/+ sign.
This will open up all of the courses within the curriculum.
For our example, we’ll be a Jr National referee and Regional scorer, so the proper selection would be NO204.
After clicking the green box, the courses will show up and you can select the one you wish to take.
Step 5 – Select the course you’d like to take by clicking on the blue box with a yellow arrow.
In this example, we’re going to select the Comprehensive Scoring Clinic. You may notice that the New USAV
Rules for 2013-2014 were started, but not completed. When returning back to a module already started, if
the system doesn’t start you in the proper spot you can click past the slides that have already viewed.
Please note that for any questions up to this point, do NOT contact USAV volleyball. Please send an email to
brad@ncrusav.org with the subject line: online help.
Once you click on the course, it will open a new window that will contain the presentation material. This may
take several moments to load, depending on your connection, and may appear as a blank screen for several
seconds. It will be necessary to ensure you are using audio at this point to hear the voice over for the slides.
Should you run technical into issues from this point on, please select the help resources at the top of the page.
I will not be able to assist with any problems that arise during the video.
Step 6 – You will need to interact with the software. At the end of each slide you must click the advance
button. When you are taking quizzes/tests, please note the wording, as several questions allow/require
multiple boxes to be checked. Should you not achieve the required score you will be given a second
opportunity to take the exam. Please review the correct answers before closing out. Note that the test
question bank is larger than the number asked. So, on your re-take, you may be asked new questions!
Step 7 – There is no need to complete all of the training at once. Your progress will be saved and you can
come back to where you last finished. Just re-launch the website http://bit.ly/ncronline and this time you
should enter in your user id and password, rather than clicking on create a new student.
Step 8 – You will receive an email (w/ a pdf certificate) at the completion of every course within the
curriculum. You will also receive an email at the completion of the entire level. Please email ONLY your FINAL
completion (not each course!). This should be completed before working as a clinician, trainer or referee. My
email is brad@ncrusav.org
Step 9 - Enjoy your season Please feel free to ask questions of your fellow officials at events. Remember that
when you are working at event you may be asked questions by players/coaches. Please be educational and
help them out. However, if you are not 100% sure of your answers, please be forward in communicating that.
They often take what an official says regarding rules or techniques and spread this. Please make sure it’s the
proper information.
Step 10 - Keep your email address! Next year’s training will look to be shorter, utilizing what you’ve already
learned and having shorter refresher courses. This will only be possible if you can use the same user id. If this
will not be possible please be in touch with me before you lose access to the other account and I will try to
assist you.
