A. D. ALBRIGHT AWARDS
AWARDS CRITERIA
PURPOSE
The A.D. Albright Awards are presented annually by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Northern Kentucky Education
Council to a teacher, administrator, a business/community leader and a government leader who are making a difference by promoting
educational excellence in Northern Kentucky.
ELIGIBILITY
**Nominees must meet the criteria within one of the following categories:
The Outstanding Teacher will be chosen from the highest scoring Golden Apple nomination and will be awarded a Golden Apple in
addition to being named Albright Outstanding Teacher.
Outstanding Administrator
This nominee is an individual who serves as an administrator in Northern Kentucky. Administrators can include (but are not limited to)
principals, superintendents, regional vocational directors, guidance counselors, college deans and college presidents in both the public
and private sectors. Nominees may serve at elementary, secondary, vocational, postsecondary or collegiate institutions. District
Superintendent of Nominee must approve submission of nomination.
Outstanding Business/Community Leader
An Outstanding Business Leader represents a business or organization committed to education in the Northern Kentucky area, which
may or may not be a Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce member.
Outstanding Governmental Leadership Award
This nominee is an individual or group that is currently or formerly a member of: a school Board or school council; University or
College Board of Trustees; Kentucky Board of Education; or similar educational governance group in Kentucky with policy making
authority. Nominee must be or have been a resident of Northern Kentucky.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The Selection Committee will choose the recipient based on information supplied by you, the nominator, in the areas listed below.
Nominators are asked to provide documentation, not to exceed a one-page per criteria to demonstrate exceptional achievement, progress
or success in these areas. Statistics, media accounts, personal testimonies, etc., may be included to help demonstrate excellence. No more
than three letters of support from students, parents and colleagues are encouraged. Keep in mind that the judges’ decision will rest solely
on the submitted documentation. Cite a minimum of 2-3 specific examples with evidence to demonstrate excellence in each area.
Leadership
Demonstrates ability to lead others in a positive manner to promote education; takes the lead and sets an example of professional
excellence in the area of education and implements improvements in education as appropriate.
Accomplishments
The accomplishments should refer specifically to work in the area of education. The supporting data should explain how the nominee
“makes things happen”, how the nominee overcomes obstacles; as well as their influence on others.
Innovation / Creativity
Provide examples of how the nominee displays innovation and/or creativity in support of education. This can be in the form of problem
solving, visionary thinking and initiating new programs or ideas.
Community Involvement/Other Factors
Explain how the nominee works with and gets along with others. Evidence of active engagement with students would be especially helpful.
