All designs must have objects that overlap Ceramic tiles will need at least 4-5 slab layers NO CLICHÉ ELEMENTS! – Hearts, stars, flowers, words, etc… Create a surface design that FILLS the majority of the slab SKETCHING: Series of sketches – with descriptions Using your researched images, create 10 thumbnails of your own texture designs RESERCH: Image/info research – documented sources Research 10 print or internet resources images focusing on relief sculptures/tile murals…look up Frank Giorgini and other artists. Do not look in one place for your research. Search the internet: viable sources like museums, libraries, artists’ sites, galleries, ceramics and pottery sites. Stay away from commercial sites.
