Find Descendants of Ernest L. Chase, son of Dr. Alvin W. Chase.
In doing research on the Chase family, we found Ernest L. Chase in prison in 1900,
married 20 years. I want to find out if he had children and if so, can I trace them.
A Dec. 18, 1896 newspaper article tells me he was in prison for attempting to
murder his wife and gives a long story about the tragedy of their marriage and his
downward spiral, ending in this act. For the purposes of this report I am going to
concentrate on the following facts gleaned from the newspaper story.
Ernest L. Chase married Cattherine Hanks, whom he met in Toledo, Ohio and
married her ca 1878. They had two sons, age 16, working as a and age 14 at home
with mother, attending school.

Are there any descendants of these two sons?
Let’s start with 1900; I think this will prove to be our Howard, despite discrepancy
in age as given in newspaper article.

 but in 1930 we found an Alvin H. Chase, wife Marie he 27, she 26 and
probably this is the Maria married to him.
We will need to do some City Directory work on Alvin Chase in Detroit.
