From 3/10/11 Gentamicn, Vancomycin and Tobramycin Assays Will be Performed by
Clinical Pathology
From Monday 3rd October gentamicin, vancomycin and tobramycin assays will be processed by the
Clinical Pathology laboratories at City and QMC campuses. The change is being made to improve the
turnaround time of these samples which will be available 24/7, the results will be reported directly
onto Notis.
To ensure that they are received and processed, from 3rd October these assays will need to be sent
on the red clinical pathology request cards NOT the blue microbiology forms and clearly state type
and time of sample. Full information on when to take levels, completion of the request card, target
