Appendix S4: Results of fertilisation trials
Crosses were conducted as detailed in Supplement S1; the mean fertilisation success and its
standard deviation (sd) and standard error (se) are given in Table S4.1. Table S4.2 shows the
results of the logistic regression models which were used to estimate (1) the maternal and
paternal effects and their interaction on fertilisation, and (2) hybrid versus purebred effects on
fertilisation .
