Call for Speakers The University of Texas at Arlington MSMR Alumni Association Marketing Research Conference Place: The University of Texas at Arlington Date: Thursday, April 9, 2015 Conference Title: Bringing Analytics to Life Relevant Topics Analysis of qualitative data Text analytics Analysis of social media data Analysis of survey data Comparisons of analytic software Advanced analytics Visualization of analytic results Keys to effective presentation of analytic results Data integration (how to analyze multiple streams of data) Analysis of neuroscience or biometric data The science of analytics (philosophy of science) Role of reporting dashboards in analytics Speaker Application: If you are interested in speaking at the conference, please submit a topic along with a one or two page outline of the proposed contents (or submit a white paper or PowerPoint presentation). Speakers will be officially notified of acceptance in early October 2014. Style and Content: The presentations must be educational and informative, not veiled or unveiled sales presentations. The presentations can touch on technical details, but should be easily understood by the typical marketing researcher or typical marketing person and by the advanced marketing or marketing research student. The conference is not designed for graduate statisticians and mathematicians. Speech Length: Most of the speaking slots are for 30 minutes. This makes for a fast-moving conference that holds the audience’s attention. If you feel your speech will require more than 30 minutes, please state this on your Speaker Application. Decision Process: All applications will be reviewed by the Conference Planning Committee. The Committee, at its sole discretion, will choose the winning topics or proposals and notify speakers. Expense Reimbursement: Since the conference is a charitable endeavor to raise money for student scholarships, speakers are asked to cover their own travel expenses. No fees are paid to speakers. Speakers will receive free admission to the Conference, of course. Each speaker may bring one guest at a cost of $50, and additional guests at standard conference rates ($99, $129, or $149, depending on when attendance fees are paid). Who Attends Conference? Attendees are largely marketing researchers working in the DallasFort Worth area or the Southwestern U.S. Total attendance usually ranges from 200 to 275. Attendees represent both Client side and Supplier side.
