 During whole group reading experiences (e.g. read aloud or shared reading) ask
students to identify singular and plural nouns and the verbs that are used with
each noun.
 This is an online quiz database. Search for the “subject verb agreement quiz”.
There are at least four different quizzes. You can use these questions as quick

 Question Stems: Students can respond to questions on sticky notes, in
reading/writing journals, on white boards etc. Students should respond in
complete sentences.

 Student Journals: Students draw a 3-column chart on their journal. Find nouns
and verbs and sort them into the first two columns by singular or plural nouns
and the third column is for the verb that goes with the noun. (See Table 1)
Words can be collected from books they are reading, word walls, and other print
throughout the room, etc.
