REFER TO PAGES 9 AND 10 FOR A COMPLETED SAMPLE DOCUMENT
Complete one Scheduling Scenario packet for each program.
Page 1: Program Information
1. Enter program information in the document header.
a. To access the header – go to p. 3 - double click “Broward County Workforce Education”
b. When the header opens – enter the program name, the program number, and the school number on the line
indicated.
i. If this is a two-part program enter both numbers separated by a colon
1. i.e. N100100/N100200
c. Exit the header by double clicking the body of the document.
2. Registration Periods
a. This grid is for informational purposes. Do not change or alter it.
3. Program Information
a. There are two grids for program information.
i. Using the 2009 program framework enter the Course Numbers, OCPs, Course Length, and Course Title –
exactly as they appear in the framework document
ii. Calculate the number of days in a course by dividing the recommended hours by 6.
1. 300 hour course: 300/6= 50 days
2. 450 hour course: 450/6 = 75 days
iii. Enter information for Program #1 in the Program #1 grid.
iv. If this is a two-part program enter the information for Program #2 in the Program #2 grid – otherwise leave
Program #2 grid blank.
4. Program Comments/Concerns/Issues
a. List comments/concerns/issues – one per line
b. Create additional lines if necessary
Pages 2-6: Scheduling Scenarios
Pages 2-6 contain scheduling grids for each open entry registration period.
Open entry periods are:
June
August
October
January
March
Complete one open-entry schedule in its entirety for each open entry period for school year 2010-2011.
New students/new programs for 2011 school year:
All programs will begin open entry in June 2010.
Continuing students/programs from 2010 school year to 2011 school year:
1. Identify students who will be continuing the program in June 2010.
2. Determine which courses remain to be completed.
3. Include a scheduling scenario for all courses for continuing students.
Using the information from the Program Grid (page 1) enter
1. Course Number
a. Enter course numbers in the order in which they will be taught
b. If, at the end of a registration period, a course is incomplete – the next registration will begin with the same
course number
2. Using a calendar enter the begin date and end date of the course
3. Course Status (enter “C” for a completed course- “I” for an incomplete course
4. Completer – enter Y if student is a program completer upon completion of the corresponding course
5. Can Change Teacher
a. Yes – if course is complete
b. No – if course is incomplete
c. N/A if program completer
General Assumptions:
1. Students will be enrolled in one course at a time.
2. Students must finish the course of enrollment before being transferred to the next course.
