The high school program at Merritt Island Christian School (MICS) concentrates on a core
curriculum with a traditional college preparatory course of study. Students take courses at levels
appropriate to their abilities. Honors level, Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Enrollment (DE)
courses are included in the curriculum. DE courses are taught in partnership with Palm Beach
Atlantic University. MICS offers four diploma tracks: College Preparatory Diploma, Honors
Diploma, Fine Arts Diploma, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
Diploma. The advanced curriculum across every department is comprehensive and encourages
the development and application of Christian character. Our curriculum is enhanced by a degreed
faculty who hold both teaching certifications from the State of Florida and ACSI (American
Christian Schools International.) MICS is accredited by SACS CASI and ACSI.
Community Information
Merritt Island is centrally located in Brevard County's "Space Coast." It's location offers easy
access to Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Rockledge, Titusville, and Viera
areas. Merritt Island is within a short commuting distance of Orlando where students will find all the
Orlando attractions such as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World. With all the
cultural surroundings, theme parks, beautiful beaches, and wonderful climate, Merritt Island is a
wonderful community in a great location.
