AURORA, IL, UPDATED July 25, 2013 – Following the success of the 2011/2012 world tour
celebrating the 35th Anniversary of his multi-platinum selling live album Frampton Comes Alive!,
Grammy winner Peter Frampton is back on the road with Frampton’s Guitar Circus.
Frampton’s 2013 tour, also featuring blues legend B.B. King, praised slide blues guitarist Sonny
Landreth, with special guests Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick and just added – four-time Grammy
winner, jazz/blues/rock guitarist Larry Carlton – will make its only Chicago-area stop this
summer on Friday, August 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Chicago’s newest outdoor concert venue,
RiverEdge Park, 360 North Broadway in downtown Aurora. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are
$35 general admission; $55 preferred bench seating; and $150 VIP package including premium
seating and exclusive merchandise.

the nearby Paramount Theatre, the satellite box office for RiverEdge, located at 23 E. Galena

What do you call it when you put a slide guitar legend, a blues guitar legend and two rock
guitar legends together for one night? You call it musical heaven…you call it Frampton’s Guitar
Circus. The evening kicks off with Sonny Landreth, then B.B. King takes over and Peter
Frampton closes out this amazing night, with special guest Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick sitting
in on Frampton’s set.
Sonny Landreth doesn’t just play slide guitar, he is the king of slide guitar and has traveled the
world blowing away audiences with his one of a kind sound and style. He’s recorded an
impressive 11 albums in his guitar tenure but even more impressive is the diversity of artists
he’s played with, including Clapton, Hiatt, Buffett and Knopfler.
B.B. King is synonymous with the blues. He is the patriarch of the musical style, performing for
over a half a century with his first lady and beloved guitar, Lucille. Dozens of musical stars
from all genres have come knocking on his door for the chance to perform with the living
legend and in return for his unyielding service, King has tallied 15 Grammy Awards, been
inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has joined the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame
and was ranked among the 10 Greatest Guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone.
There is no talking about rock-n-roll without talking about Peter Frampton. He remains one of
the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. At 16, he was lead singer and guitarist
for British band the Herd. At 18, he co-founded one of the first super groups, seminal rock act
Humble Pie. His session work includes such legendary artists as George Harrison, Harry
Nilsson, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, John Entwistle and many others. He turned
the world upside down in 1976 with Frampton Comes Alive!, which produced hit-after-hit and
propelled Frampton into the rock stratosphere. Frampton Comes Alive! remains one of the topselling live records of all time.
Frampton’s infectious live performance has been praised by Los Angeles Times noting “…the
British virtuoso is still making sweet music.”St. Louis Post Dispatch furthers the acclaim by
admiring “the purity of the musicianship from Frampton,” while The Herald Scotland lauds the
guitarist explaining, “he delivered, with practiced ease, everything from jazz-inflected
introductions to fierce, irresistible solos.”

RiverEdge Park is located directly across Metra’s Aurora Transportation Center, on the east
bank of the beautiful Fox River. Almost all RiverEdge events allow folding chairs and bag chairs
for general admission ticket holders. For preferred general admission bench seating, guests are
encouraged to bring a padded seat cushion for added comfort. Food and drink are available for
purchase inside RiverEdge Park. Concessions at RiverEdge offer a diversified menu from
official food vendor Two Brothers Roundhouse, along with a bar featuring Two Brothers’ craft
beers, Anheuser-Bush products, wine, sodas, bottled water and more. No outside food or drink
(except water) are allowed in the park during events.
Concerts take place rain or shine, unless conditions endanger the safety of artists and the public.
