The research was dedicated to LIBS on different materials such as water, solid in air and
submerged in water, as well as fs-LIBS on solid sample.
Researcher position at Laser Center s.c.r.l of Bari (Italy) on pollutants and meteorological
measurements into the atmosphere (Apr. 2001- Oct. 2003).
The research was dedicated to the Remote Sensing of gaseous pollutants and meteorological
parameters with laser system (Differential Absorption Lidar (DIAL) and Lidar measurements)

Research activities:
- Fundamental studies of nanoparticles production by laser ablation in liquid at different
pressure (by optical emission spectroscopy, shadowgraph, absorbance)
- Laser Induced plasma (LIP) fundamental studies by high temporally and spatially resolved
optical emission spectroscopy in different environments (gas, liquids)
- Production of nanoparticles and nanostructures by Pulsed Laser Ablation in Liquid (PLAL)
and their employment in different fields (biological systems, Nanoparticle Enhanced LIBS,
etc.)
- Laser induced breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) for quantitative analysis of different samples
(meteorites, archaeological finding, gemstones, soils, plants and so on) with calibration and
calibration-free analytical methods.
- Environmental and meteorological diagnostic by laser system: LIDAR, DIAL
- Laser Induced Fluorescence
- Spectroscopic studies of photosynthetic pigments in biomimetic systems
Additional Information:
- Research activities are documented by several ISI papers (see links) and by many
contributions (both oral and poster) in international conferences.
- Participation in several Research Projects (CNR and international partners)
- Engagement in the organizing committee of some International Conferences (the last one
was EMSLIBS2013).
- Reviewer for several international journals, for some international projects (National Science
Center of Poland, Czech Science Foundation), for an external assessment of International
Doctor conferring (Alicante University).
