University of Greenwich Early Career Research Excellence Awards
In the 2011/12 academic year, the University of Greenwich will make three Early
Career Research Excellence awards.
Awards will recognise exceptional research achievement and potential by early
career academic and research staff that meet the University ECR criteria and that are
currently in-post at the University of Greenwich. In order to be eligible, staff must
have gained their PhD (or equivalent research degree) within the past 5 years (since
2006) and have been appointed as academic or research staff of the University of
Greenwich within the past 8 years.
Awards will be decided on the basis of nomination portfolios which should be
prepared in consultation with the relevant Director of Research and Enterprise,
following the format given in the Appendix below.
Portfolios must include a statement of support from the relevant Dean of School.
The requirement of submission of the nomination electronically by the Dean of
School is in lieu of hard copy sign-off by that Dean.
Nomination portfolios should be submitted electronically to Lara Everest
(l.d.everest@gre.ac.uk) in Greenwich Research and Enterprise (GRE) by close of
business on Wednesday 29th February 2012. Nominations must be submitted by the
Dean of School of the nominee, from their University of Greenwich email account.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Enterprise will make the final decision(s)
on the awards, supported by the Director, Greenwich Early Career Research Initiative
and an Advisory Panel which will include senior researchers in the University.
This year, the University will make three awards. Each awardee will receive an
internal grant of £5,000 to support their research and a citation which will be
presented at the Annual ECR Celebration in summer 2012.
