Bush Institute for Women’s Health (LWBIWH) is pleased to announce the first Institute-wide grants program. Proposals are invited that represent a collaborative effort across schools and campuses, addressing aspects of women’s health and/or health-related gender differences/disparities. A key LWBIWH goal is to catalyze research programs that bridge departments, schools, and campuses and to facilitate the translation of basic and applied research into clinical care. This seed grant program also supports faculty scholarship and professional development. LWBIWH Types of Funding Considerations, 2013 Translational, Clinical and Population-based Research Proposals in translational, clinical and population-based research will be considered if they are focused on topics affecting women’s health and/or health-related gender differences/disparities or if they address gaps in research concerning sex or gender, such as areas where the majority of research has been performed in males with no or little published findings in females, Educational Innovations Proposals that develop and assess educational innovations will be also considered if they contribute to the integration of evidence-based sex and gender content in health professions education. This may include ongoing activities within the Sex and Gender-based Medicine Curriculum in the schools of Nursing, Pharmacy and Medicine, audit of current curricula for sex and gender content with the goal of curriculum development in the future, or development of inter-professional CME/CEU activities.
