Carnegie Key Milestone Dates for 2016/17
We have set dates for the CoR for new students and progression dates for continuing
students. Please make sure you are available to attend and prepare accordingly.
To help you plan your studies we have also provided timescales for students close to
completion and hoping to graduate.
Finally we have confirmed the Research Degree Sub Committee meeting dates and
deadlines for paperwork.

Graduation information for students close to completion
For any theses received in the URO before Friday 24th February 2017, where examination
arrangements are in place and fees paid to date, the URO will work to ensure that the
examination is arranged (subject to availability and synchronisation of examination panel)
so that the student can attend graduation in July 2016 (subject to the outcome of the Viva).
The URO will try and meet urgent and unexpected requests but cannot promise that these
will be arranged in time to meet the graduation.
For any amendments / resubmission (without Viva) received before Friday 07th April 2017
the URO will try to ensure that feedback is provided from examiners to ensure that the
student can attend Graduation 2016. Note any student resubmitting after Friday 8th April
2016 may not make Graduation.
Any student who submits their thesis after 1st May 2017 may have their Viva scheduled for
September 2017.
The URO are responsible for arranging the date and time of the Viva
examination. Students close to submission should contact the URO to ensure a smooth
and swift transition to examination.
Please note the URO do not schedule Vivas between 1st July and 31st August
