Course Description
Grades 9-12
1 semester / 1/2 Credit
Google Applications is designed to introduce students to many of the applications
that Google offers through a project-based approach. The course builds on skills
beyond the traditional introduction of computer concepts and incorporates
emerging technologies using Google Applications. It will prepare students for
learning and working in the 21st century through communication and collaboration
tools.
Topical Outline






Basic and power search strategies
Gmail
Google Drive including: Docs, Slides, Sheets, Draw, Forms
Creating and customizing Google maps
Google Keep
Miscellaneous apps available in Google
Assessment
Students will create work products in a variety of formats in the categories of
reflective writing and projects.

Note: I post weekly grades to Progress Book on the weekends only. You may
check your updated grade each Monday by logging into Progress Book.
End of Class
At the conclusion of class you will be asked to:
 Find a convenient stopping point
 Make notes on where you should pick up at the next class session and/or
what you accomplished for your end-of-week report
 Save your work
 Log off Interclass (DO NOT SWITCH USER – SIGNOFF!)
 Push in your chair and take any papers/trash with you.

 Own your own behavior.
 Work hard and make wise choices.
 Learn and live with a positive attitude.
 Show repect for yourself and others.
Classroom/Lab Rules






Arrive on time and log in to assigned computer.
Stay on task during work and instruction time.
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Treat equipment with respect.
No food or drink permitted in lab.
Do not personalize desktops with inappropriate images.
 Be aware that your web use/printing will be monitored.
Inability to follow classroom rules or teacher requests will result in consequences
including:
 Seat change
 Forced log-off/locked out of internet
 Last to leave classroom
 Stay after classroom for 1-on-1 discussion
 Phone call home
 Referral
