KY 40205 MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE FALL ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION WHY WAIT: The impact of Early Intervention on Child and Adolescent Development NOVEMBER 3, 2011 6:00- 8:00 PM (no cost to attend-light refreshments provided) When parents approach you about a specific developmental concern during a routine pediatric check-up or teacher conference how do you respond? When do you refer parents to a specialist? Should parents wait to see if their child grows out of it? Should they wait to just see what happens? How early should their child be evaluated? What is normal? “I was told I didn’t start talking until late - Is my child simply a late talker?” The WHY WAIT? Roundtable is Square One’s response to questions from parents and teachers as to when they should see a specialist for insight into their child’s development through individualized comprehensive, thoughtful evaluation and consultation.
