ACHIEVEMENTS AND HOBBIES
Sheffield Graduate Award (April 2015) I have been involved in various societies and activities and my
achievements have been recognized by the University of Sheffield.
Sheffield University Language Fair (April 2012 and April 2013) Participated in the annual Language Fair in a
group of 2-3 people, teaching Lithuanian and Russian in 1h long lectures for each language over the weekends.
Assistant Language Teacher (Oct 2013 – Feb 2014, Japan) Assisted the English language teacher in the class of
1st year Japanese students, encouraging them to participate in the lesson and coming up with lesson ideas.
Anime Society Committee (Sept 2012 – June 2013) Held a position of an Inclusions Officer and acquired
customer service experience by dealing with the society members. Answered any questions about the society
(both in person and through the society website) and relayed any further inquiries to other committee
members. Liaised with other societies to introduce a new event to our society.
Tabletop roleplaying (hobby, 2011-present). This hobby constantly develops a range of skills: creativity,
persuasion, leadership and teamwork. As a Storyteller it is my duty to create an engaging world for the players
and make sure they are enjoying the game. Then there is also an organizational side, as I am the one who is
planning the games and I keep in touch with all the players to make sure that they appear on time. When I
participate in the games as a player, I work in a small team, strengthening my teamworking and negotiation
skills, helping the rest of the players to achieve the common goal. To help others interested in the hobby I
manage an image and music/sound gallery that the online users can use for their own games.
SKILLS
LANGUAGES: Native Russian speaker with native level English, native level Lithuanian, intermediate Japanese
and beginner Italian through self-study. Interested in acquiring more languages.
RESEARCH: Developed this skill as part of my degree, researching various new topics for essays and
presentations on Linguistics and/or Japanese language and culture. Research appropriate gaming/IT
terminology for projectdogmat.com translation.
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION: Managed small groups of people when running tabletop roleplaying
games, ensuring civility and equal participation. Participated in public speaking events such as International
Language Fair in Sheffield in 2012 and 2013. In 2012 dealt with student enquiries as an Inclusions Officer of a
university society. In 2013 organised and held tabletop roleplaying games for teenagers.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Acquired this skill as a part of my degree. Joined projectdogmat.com as a RussianEnglish/English-Russian translator/proofreader to translate game lore, developer blogs, news and updates.
Translated their upcoming Kickstarter campaign and all the supplementary materials.
TEAMWORK AND CREATIVITY: Created stories and events for weekly tabletop games, participated in such
games as a player, supporting other players to solve presented problems in time and ensure victory. In 2012 as
an Inclusions Officer, I made joint decisions with the committee to efficiently run the society.
MULTICULTURALISM: Travelled extensively to many EU countries, spent a year in Japanese university. As a
student from Lithuania, living in UK strengthened my adaptability and I am always working in a diverse
environment.
TIME MANAGEMENT AND MULTITASKING: While living in Japan, created a 1-month travelling schedule for
myself and one more person with no knowledge of the country or language, clearly outlining the places of
interest. In 2013 organized tabletop gaming sessions, communicating with the teachers and players so that
everyone shows up on time while also ensuring that I have enough time to prepare for the university exams.
