Conflicts in class times may require the modification of this plan. 1. Biological Science - Composite Teaching majors are strongly advised to complete the required math coursework as quickly as possible and to take math classes every semester until completing MATH 1210. Math prerequisites are valid for at most one year and must have C or C- grades or better. MATH 0900, 1010, 1050, and 1060 may be required for those not prepared to begin MATH 1210. If you do not have a math grade or test (ACT, SAT, MPE) score within the last year, you will be required to take the Math Placement Exam to begin the math coursework. 2. Many students take a more rigorous Chemistry sequence to earn a Chemistry teaching minor, see your advisor for details. 3. BIOL 3065 is only offered during alternating years. 4. Students should complete SCED 3300 and 3400 (fall only) before enrolling in SCED 4300 and 4400 (spring only). All SCED prefix courses require STEP admission as a prerequisite. For details, students should consult their advisor. 5. Students must select from the following list, one upper-division physiology course with an integrated lab or separate laboratory: Courses with integrated laboratories: BIOL 4400 – Plant Physiology (F) BIOL 4600 – Advanced Human Physiology (Sp) BIOL 5300 – Microbial Physiology (F) Courses with separate lecture and lab: BIOL 5100 – Neurobiology (Sp) and BIOL 5610 – Animal Physiology Laboratory (F) or BIOL 5600 – Comparative Animal Physiology (F) and BIOL 5610 – Animal Physiology Laboratory (F)
