1% Agarose Gel

Mix 1 gram of Agarose with 100 ml 0.5xTBE buffer in a flask.
Swirl until Agarose is dissolved.
Place flask in microwave and heat until the solution is boiling (about 1 minute).*
Remove from microwave using protective gloves and swirl flask to further mix the solution.
Microwave again until boiling.
Remove from microwave and allow solution to cool to 65 degree Celsius while remaining to
swirl the flask or mix with stir bar.
Add 5ul of EtBr for every 100ml of solution.
Mix thoroughly.
Pour solution into sealed gel box and allow the gel to harden into a jello like substance.
Your gel is ready to use!
*Be careful not to let your solution boil over in the microwave!
