Evaluation or Comparison of Instructional Strategies or Curricula Research conducted in established or commonly accepted educational settings and involving normal educational practices. Educational Tests, Surveys, Interviews or Observations Research involving educational tests (cognitive, diagnostic, aptitude, achievement), surveys, interviews, or observations of public behavior, unless: (i) information obtained is recorded in a way that permits human subjects to be identified directly or through identifiers linked to the subjects; and/or (ii) disclosure of subjects’ responses could damage the subject financially, affect employment or reputation, or place the subject at risk of criminal or civil liability. Food Quality Evaluation and Consumer Acceptance Studies This exemption may only be granted if the food contains (i) no additives; or (ii) all ingredients, agricultural chemicals, and environmental contaminants in the food are at or below the levels determined to be safe by the FDA or are approved by the EPA or the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the USDA.
