As per DET’s First Aid and Infection Prevention and Control Procedure, schools are required to
complete a First Aid Risk Assessment to determine the number of first aid officers required for their
workplace. First Aid training should comply with nationally recognised courses: Provide First Aid
(HLTAID003) and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001). Details of course content
for HLTAID003 and HLTAID001 and a list of registered training organisations that provide compliant
courses can be accessed at: http://training.gov.au/.
