Name: Dr.S.Suresh Kumar Pillai Post : Scientist-C E- mail: suresh_pillai2000@rediffmail.com FIELD OF SPECIALIZATION 12 years research experience in Megafloristic study on Permain Megafossils of India. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Engaged with the Institute projects and have an expertise on the morphotaxonomical analysis, identification and comparison of plant fossils collected from various Lower Gondwana Basins of India and in particular from the Rawanwara Area of Pench Valley Coalfield, Satpura Gondwana Basin, Central India. I was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Botany from Lucknow University. The title of my Ph.D. was “Study towards the knowledge of Glossopteris flora of India”. Apart from this, I am working on palaeozoic Palynology (miospore and megaspore). Attended national and international conferences. At present working on three projects: Palaeobotanical investigation of central India (Satpura Gondwana basin) to analyse the floristic succession, evolutionary perspectives, biostratigraphy and palaeoenvironment.(Self project) Palaeobotanical investigations from Johilla and Sohagpur coalfields, South Rewa Gondwana Basin: Basinal Correlation, evolutionary, biostratigraphical and palaeoecological implications (Member of project). Mega- and microfloristics of the Permo-Carboniferous sediments of Kashmir region: Evolutionary, biostratigraphical, palaeoecological and palaeophytogeographical implications (Member of project). CONFERENCES ATTENDED 1. Oral Presentation of paper entitled as “Plant fossil from Rawanwara Area of Pench Valley Coalfield, Satpura Gondwana Basin, M.P”.
