Read the following version of the story out loud to the class:
Once upon a time, in a land far away, there lived a girl names Cinderella. She lived with her evil step-mother and
two evil step-sisters. Every day, the evil step-mother made Cinderella work all day long and into the night.
One day, an invitation to a ball was sent to all the young maidens of the kingdom. The evils stepsisters eagerly
prepared for the ball and left full of excitement, but the evil step-mother would not allow Cinderella to go to the
ball and locked her in her room. Cinderella thought all hope was lost until a fairy godmother appeared, and
provided Cinderella with clothing and transportation to the ball.
Dressed in a beautiful gown and glass slippers Cinderella rushed off to attend the ball. The castle was beautiful –
almost as beautiful as Cinderella herself. Prince Charming wondered who this beautiful woman was, and danced
only with her at the ball.
As the clock struck midnight, Cinderella ran away as fast as she could. Although Prince Charming looked for her,
all her found was one glass slipper. Prince Charming rode from house to house looking for the woman the fit this
glass slipper because he fell in love with her at the ball, and wants this mystery woman to become his wife.
Prince Charming arrives at Cinderella’s house, and the step-sisters try to make the slipper fit their large, wide
feet. To their disappointment, the Prince sees Cinderella and asks her to try the glass slipper on. Cinderella held
her breath as Prince Charming gently placed the glass slipper onto her foot. The shoe fit! The prince has found
his wife!
Cinderella went to live with Prince Charming in the beautiful castle, and they lived happily ever after.
