Minutes of the Annual General Meeting

1. Welcome & Apologies
The Chairs (Louise Metcalfe and Jane Tibble) welcomed everyone to the meeting. No apologies were
received.
2. Minutes of Previous AGM (18th October 2011)
The minutes of last year’s meeting were approved by Nic Wood and seconded by Bernie Stevenson.
3. Annual Reports
Louise presented the Annual Report for 2012/2013 (available on the school’s website) which highlighted
the year’s successes and the forthcoming year’s events.
Jane and Louise thanked everyone who had contributed to the Friends’ success including the
Committee, parents, teachers, office staff and Nick Fensom.
They also thanked Debbie Taylor for auditing the accounts, Rebecca Childs for producing the Friends’
update and the matchfunding parents including Emma Pearson, Rachel Perry, Anna Kirk and Rob
Parsonage.
The retiring Committee members – Jemma Fairfoull, Roz Brown, Simon Ellis, Vikki Hart, Sharon Millroy,
Tania Fensom and Jo Lloyd were thanked for their time and effort.
Laura Starkie was welcomed as new Secretary (proposed by Katie Parsonage and seconded by Ginny
Humphrey). Bernie Stevenson and Katie Knowles were introduced as joint Co-Chairs (proposed by Matt
RK and Jo Parker, and seconded by Shelly Bright and Tess P).
4. Treasurer’s Report
Julia presented the Treasurer’s report which stated that £17,815 had been raised in the year 2012/2013.
£10,045 of which had come from the fireworks, summer fete and matched funding.
£17,000 had been donated to the School which included £5,000 for the swimming pool refurbishment,
£3,000 to the library, £2,300 for the espresso computer learning software and £2,000 for a new
projector.
5. Election of New Committee Members
Jemma agreed to email nomination forms for committee members 2013/14 to Jane Pillinger, Claire
Roberts, Debbie Lawrence, Olga Steins, Ginny Humphrey and Laura Starkie. Louise stated that new
members could be elected at committee meetings.
6. Election of New Trustee Members
It was agreed that the election take place at the next committee meeting on 27th November.
7. Date of Next Meeting
Provisionally the last Thursday before half term in October 2014 was given (date to be confirmed).
8. Conclusion
Mr Murphy thanked the Committee and parents for their fantastic fundraising efforts and the successful
events held throughout the year which allowed the teaching staff to make so many funding requests.
Special thanks were given to Louise and Jane for their amazing work and dedication as co-Chairs over
the past 4 years. Julia presented Louise and Jane with gifts from the parents’ collection.
Lucy Hill asked for more volunteers to help with the Fireworks on 8 th November.
AGM closed at 7.30pm followed by the social and shopping evening.
