The main purpose of this course is to provide
the students with a current framework
towards the etiological, therapeautic and
diagnostic criteria of mental disorders and
encourage them to grasp a sceptical
/comprehensive point of view in terms of main
conceptual issues in abnormal psychology.
In this course, psychosociocultural factors that
may have affected the conceptual bacgrounds
of psychopathology will be emphasized.
Furthermore, different psychological
paradigms offering etiological explanations
towards and major international diagnostic
taxonomies for mental disorders will be
introduced. Rest of the course will be
dedicated to diagnostic criteria, etiologies and
therapies of various types of mental disorders.
