1. NCC State of the Region report: workshop and integration products
a. Worked with PISCO & CDFW to develop and facilitate the NCC Integration and Synthesis workshop

i. Supported PISCO involvement in OST’s Central Coast Monitoring Indicator updates, the
Central Coast Monitoring Survey, and the Central Coast long-term monitoring planning
process, with attention towards applying those methods to the NCC monitoring update.
ii. Attended South Coast baseline program integration workshops, and hosted SC PIs at the NCC
integration workshop, to evaluate potential connections.
iii. Shared integration project ideas with PISCO-ODFW Integration fellow in Oregon.
h. Carr lab: edited marine conservation textbook chapters, participated in weekly lab meetings and
select seminars, shared OST efforts with students, provided feedback for grad students working on
applications of science for management
3. Presentations, Outreach, and Engagement
a. CERF conference, Nov 2013 (met Baseline PIs, moderated session on policy and management)
b. WSN Conference, Nov 2013 (met Baseline PIs and partners, discussed early integration ideas)
c. GFNMS focal species and adaptation workshops, February and July 2014 (represented OST, and
connected with climate change partners to develop the climate section of the SoR)
d. CSMP workshop, Oct 2014 (discussions informed white zone pre-proposal and developed
collaborations)
e. WSN, Nov 2014 (Ecosystem connectivity presentation)
f. Annual PISCO PI meeting, December 2014 (presented integration projects)
g. CeNCOOS workshop, Jan. 2015 (connected with CeNCOOS specialists who can assist with the SoR)
4. Leveraged support for partnerships and further research
a. Wrote and coordinated a California Sea Grant preliminary proposal for enhancing the white zone
mapping, building on the integration project (pre-proposal submitted: responses pending in April)
b. Developed ties with CSUMB through map project, leading to a mapping applications intern at OST
